*Note: the wash day recap for this twist out is posted here.
I drafted this post in absolute glee. I felt like I’d won my own personal twist out lottery *twirls and throws confetti!* After deep conditioning, I applied the same leave-in conditioner I’ve been using for weeks – Shea Moisture’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In – but instead of using the Shea Moisture Curing Gel Souffle like I’ve been doing, I used Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie instead.
Once I finished twisting my hair I let my hair dry for a day. I may or may not have squealed in excitement when I finished unraveling my hair. Best. Twist out. Definition. Ever (so far).
And a few minutes later I think I screwed it up by pulling the sections apart (I don’t completely split them, I leave the every ends alone… I learned that my hair frizzes when I split a strand from root to tip ) TOO much. A tiny part of me thinks I should have just left the twists alone in their defined twisty awesomeness.
I think the Curl Enhancing Smoothie made the difference. I’ve been using the Souffle gel up until this twist out and while I love the gel, the smoothie seems provide softer, smoother, results.
