My Review

I purchased this conditioner based on its ingredients — always, always look at the ingredient list before purchasing a conditioner — and I’m glad I bought it. It penetrates into my hair and leaves it so darn soft. Most importantly, it provides moisture that lasts during the week. At 15 months post, I’m always a little worried that my relaxed and natural hair will not be in harmony when it comes to a new product but thankfully, this conditioner hit both notes well… yes I had to continue with that corny harmony/music theme ♩♫ ♬.

This conditioner has a creamy, gel-like consistency that detangles my hair like a dream. Among the ingredients are marshmallow root and slippery elm which are known for their slip-producing properties due to the mucilage they release. It also rinses out well and does not cling to my hair and scalp.

In addition to marshmallow root and slippery elm, this conditioner contains a number of ingredients my hair loves:

  • Behentrimonium Methosulfate — a conditioning agent that helps detangle and provide moisture.
  • Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol — are fatty alcohols. Fatty alcohols are emollients, they moisturize and condition our hair, and provide slip.
  • Honey — humectant.
  • Vegetable Glycerin — humectant.
  • Coconut Oil
  • Lactic Acid — humectant.
  • Stearalkonium Chloride — a cationic surfactant: aid in detangling, helps seal the hair cuticle.
15 months post hair with conditioner still in after 15 minutes with steam + 45 minutes without heat.

A little goes a long way. It spreads easily in my hands and in my hair. I’ve used this conditioner three times on my big head and I still have more than half of a the jar left over. As for the fragrance, it passes my migraine-trigger test (it did not cause one) and it does not linger, which I like. I used to love when fragrances lingered in my hair, but lately, not-so-much.

This conditioner is a winner for me. SheScentIt usually has a great Black Friday sale so I’ve definitely tacked this onto my BF list. Side note: am I the only one who REFUSES to step foot in a store on Black Friday???? I have been out in on BF in I think 5 years, when I watched women jump at a pile of the ugliest shoes known to womankind at Macy’s just because a sales associates plopped a “Black Friday sale” sign on it.

Have you used this conditioner? Liked it? Loved it? Left it?
