My Assessment

Let’s speak plainly: I’ve tried lots and lots of conditioners and this one is among my favorites. It was love at first scoop lol.

On application it’s quite thick. The first time I used this conditioner I was worried it wasn’t going to be all that great because it sort of just sits on my hair, but deep conditioning with heat — either with with heating cap, steamer, or overnight with just body heat — helps it sink into my hair (steaming helps the most with helping this conditioner penetrate into my hair). It doesn’t sink all the way into my hair but this conditioner has consistently moisturized my hair, leaving or soft and fluffy even days (the max I’ve tested is 7 days) after using it.

On application this conditioner doesn’t provide me with much slip but as I rinse it from my hair, it helps melt my hair and loosen tangles. I was also initially worried that the orange oil and orange extract would irritate my scalp during long deep conditioning sessions, but thankfully my worries were unwarranted.

This deep conditioner has a pleasant scent, that does linger but it’s light. It also rinses out well and doesn’t cling to my hair or scalp. And the packaging? You know me. Wide-mouth jars are like little rays of sunshine in a gray bottle-filled world. #drasticmuch

How does this conditioner compare to my long time boo-thang Vanilla Silk Cream Moisture Dream? Both conditioners are quality moisturizing deep conditioners, but this conditioner is thicker than VSCMD, but while it doesn’t sink in as well as VSCMD does it conditions my hair better and provides my hair with longer lasting moisture. Something my now nearly 7 months post hair greatly appreciates.

Is this conditioner here to stay? You bet.

Have you tried this deep conditioner? Like it? Love it? Hate it?
