Your hair is?… Relaxed (this includes texlaxed)

When and why did you start your hair journey?
I started my hair journey officially in April 2013. After I had cut my hair into a pixie for the third or fourth time in four years I realized that it hadn’t grown out as fast as it had the last time.

What is your current regimen?
Currently, my hair is in braids and I deep condition with probably too many oils to count, mixed with my regular conditioner.

Do you have any hair goals? Have you achieved them? How did you achieve them? How are you working to achieve them?
I would like my hair to reach APL by Jan 1, 2014. I am about 3-5 inches away from APL (not sure since my hair is still in braids and will be for the next 6 months).

What do you wish you knew at the start of your journey?
Not to cut my hair every time it grew out from the pixie cut I had it in and started looking choppy.

What are your favorite protective styles?

What do you love most about your hair?
My hair colour and the fact that it is actually grows and retains length even though it’s still kinda short.

What is the funniest or strangest hair related experience you’ve ever had?
My funniest hair story happened when I was about 7. I had really long natural hair and I was off from school so my mother put hair in two puffs and went to work. Well, as the day went on my hair started to get ridiculously fuzzy so my solution was to take a scissors and cut off all the fuzz. I did this about twice that day and when my mother got home she FREAKED!! Turns out I accidentally cut an inverted mohawk into my hair and as a result I to get all of my long hair cut off. Needless to say when I went back to school I got teased. You’d think by the students, rigtht?? Nope the teachers of all people, who then started calling me Simon. sigh well it grew back three years later not as long but then I relaxed it and it went down hill from there. But now its growing back so hopefully I get to my goal length by New Years.

Thank you for sharing your story with us, Simone. Love the color! It’s a shame the teachers teased you :/
