Red by Kiss 2200 Ceramic Tourmaline Dryer and Red by Kiss Universal Detangling Pik

I first saw this dryer while browsing through Instagram last year and immediately jumped on Amazon to add to my wish list. For the past however long I've owned a blow dryer, I've loved holding the dryer by the barrel; it's just easier to wield and use. I didn't know handle-less dryers existed until I spotted this dryer on @Mz_Tammy's Instagram account.

Price & Purchased From

Both the dryer and detangling pik where purchased on Amazon: Red by Kiss 2200 Ceramic Tourmaline Handle-less Dryer – $35.95 and Red by Kiss Universal Detangling Pik – $7.59

The dryer has 3 heat settings – cold, low (heat), and high – and is very lightweight and (thankfully) because of its design, the barrel of the dryer remains cool of the touch, even when set on the highest heat setting.

Red By Kiss Handle-less dryer attachmentThe dryer comes with three attachments: 2 comb attachments (one more wider toothed than the other) and a standard funnel nozzle (not pictured because I can't find mine anywhere).

I've used the smaller toothed attachment maybe twice because my hair was more prone to breakage when using it. I even took to sanding the teeth with 500 grit sanding paper to prevent the teeth from snagging my hair but eventually opted to stick with the wider tooth comb before abandoning the standard attachments for the Red by Kiss Universal Detangling Pik.

You certainly get by with the standard attachment but the detangling pik is a much better attachment and a worthy buy. The teeth of the detangling pik are much smoother, stronger,  and are wider-spaced as well. The design of the detangling pik does make it easier to comb through your hair but to avoid breakage you must still detangle before drying your hair. The double comb also helps keep my hair straight while drying it for sleeker results.

Detangling PikThe only thing I find annoying about the detangling pik is that it gradually slips down the barrel of the dryer as I run it through my hair because it doesn't continually grip the dryer as snugly as it should. Although it is a universal dryer attachment, buyer beware, if the barrel of your dryer is on the narrower side, the attachment will likely slip down the barrel of the dryer. I haven't come up with a way to rig the attachment to prevent it from slipping but while in use, I simply tap it against my leg to push it back up and keep on drying.

All in all, this dryer and detangling pik have been a great invest for my straight hair days. The handle-less design makes it very comfortable to use at any angle and the detangling pik has reduced my drying time and breakage from manipulation.

My hair wasn’t dry in the video before blow drying it

I love the cold setting. It takes a bit longer to dry my hair completely on the cold setting, but it’s a much appreciated function when I want to limit heat use as much as possible
