How did they do?

Here are my first impressions from a few weeks ago:

The Exotique Leave-In Hair Potion has a nice light consistency that reminds of me of gel, provided lots of slip (I didn’t bother using a comb to detangle my hair, just my fingers) and my hair the next morning feels moisturized, soft, smooth, and very light. The only “con” I noticed after one use is that this leave-in has a very perfume-y fragrance. Unfortunately, I’m sensitive to strong fragrances. They’re a migraine trigger for me and by the time I’d finished twisting my hair I had a bad one. I doubt I’ll feel brave enough to try this one again.

The Creme Jelle Styler is on the creamy side but still lightweight. I love the hold it provided without making my hair feel crunchy. Unlike the leave-in, it has a soft, pleasant fragrance. I definitely plan on using this styler again.

Over the last 3 or 4 weeks, I've used these two for twists outs and perm rod set done on blow dried hair. I really love how much slip the Exotique Leave-In Hair Potion provides, how smooth and frizz-less my hair is once dry and set, and how well it sinks into my hair, leaving behind zero traces of products or greasy feel. To avoid triggering a migraine, I took to doing my hair either on my bed or in living room, instead of in my bathroom, where the fragrance of the Hair Potion doesn't become overpowering. The fragrance is not unpleasant but if you're like me and sensitive to fragrances it's something to note. I wish the Exotique Leave-In Hair Potion was a touch more moisturizing, but it provides my hair with sufficient moisture and my hair remains soft for the week before I feel the need to co-wash/deep condition again.

Entwine Naturalle Couture Exotique Leave-In Hair Potion and Entwine Naturalle Couture Crème Jellé Styler
I used: Entwine Naturalle Couture Exotique Leave-In Hair Potion and Entwine Naturalle Couture Crème Jellé Style

Used together, the Hair Potion and Crème Jellé Style helps me achieve soft, smooth, and defined twist outs. The definition achieved from the initial unraveling lasts about 3 days until I separate the sections for more volume. Since I do not pineapple or re-twist my hair at night, the fact that my twist out lasts without fuss is big plus for me. When using just the Crème Jellé Styler and Entwine Naturalle Couture Total Perfection Argan Oil (separate review coming soon for this one), the Styler provides a nice, strong (but not stiff) hold for a defined twist out.

On the left: I used Entwine Naturalle Couture Exotique Leave-In Hair Potion and Entwine Naturalle Couture Crème Jellé Styler. And on the right: I used Shea Moisture JBCO Leave-In Conditioner, Entwine Naturalle Couture Total Perfection Argan Oil, and Entwine Naturalle Couture Crème Jellé Styler.

On blow dried hair, I was able to achieve soft, smooth, frizz-less curls with the Exotique Leave-In Hair Potion and Crème Jellé Styler. My hair remained soft for a nearly week (on right is day 6) with this perm rod set.

Although I really like these product and love the results I've been able to achieve with them, I don't think I'll be purchasing them in the future... maybe the Crème Jellé Styler but only if there was a sale. Without a sale I just couldn't be okay with dropping $28.99 on one product. The strong fragrance of the Hair Potion and the fact that I wish it was a bit more moisturizing takes it out of the running for a future purchase.

  1. Stylers are always the hardest for me to commit to! Is it wrong for me to want a styler that’s moisturizing, gives definition and provides my curls with lasting hold? Or is that too much to ask? LOL.
Your review of these products was crazy thorough! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Great review! I’m sorry they caused you a migraine. I’ve been curious about these products for a while but based on the ingredients I think I’ll pass. Although looking at your definition, they look really good!
