I’ve been enjoying having my hair out, styling it, and playing it over the last couple of weeks but I needed a break this week. Solution? Back to marley twists! Here’s my recap.
I started off by spraying my hair with water + glycerin (60%/40%), and then applied Aussie Moist on top. For $2.99 a bottle… tube… ? tubble? It’s a detangling, moisturizing gem.
After pre-pooing for 30 minutes, I hopped in the shower and shampooed with Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo. It’s currently the second shampoo my natural hair doesn’t revolt against (the first being Redken Hair Cleansing Cream Shampoo — my review is posted here). It cleanses, but does not strip my hair #winning. And it’s been great for my itchy scalp.
With my hair fresh and clean, I squeezed excess water from my hair and applied Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System Hair Masque. And since I just learned how to make gifs from video (whoop!) I get to include things like this in my posts — my tresses after applying the masque to my hair.
I’m still being as gentle as possible with my edges, so the twists are looser at my edges and I don’t bother applying gel or brushing them when in marley twists. I just let ’em do their thing.
