How Did It Do?

I’ve been using this leave-in conditioner for a couple months now and I love it. I’ve used this leave-in for curl formers (this post), twist outs (like here), braid outs (and here), and flexi rods (and here). It’s a creamy leave-in that provides slip and detangles my hair. It definitely helps me finger comb through my hair a bit before switching to my jumbo rake seamless comb if I have to. I really love that despite it’s creamy consistency it sinks into my hair on application; nothing is worse than having product sit on top of your strands and stare at you. It also has a pleasant fragrance that isn’t too perfume-y. Most importantly this leave provides moisture (even though I wish it provided a bit more moisture) while strengthening my hair but not too much so as to cause crunchy hair.

This leave-in is definitely a staple for me. Even though the large jar lasts a while I made sure I picked up some more while Shea Moisture products are currently buy one, get on free at Walgreens.

Sidenote, why is the name of this product so darn long?

HAVE YOU USED THIS Leave-in CONDITIONER? LIKED IT? LOVED IT? LEFT IT?

  1. It was such a wonderful article dear and from my side I want to say that i am using hair growth shampoo from long and its really effective. This gentle cleansing, sulfate-free, color safe shampoo was specially created to bring relief to damaged, brittle, over processed and color treated hair.

  2. Thank you for such a wonderful article dear, and from my side I want to say that i am using jamaican black castor oil from long for my hairs and its really effective. It will improve your hairs for sure.

  3. This product has been sitting in my stash for several months, but you have just re-inspired me to use it!

  4. Love your review of the product, for now I use the Shea Moisture Castor Oil Lotion as a leave in.

  5. Haven’t tried but I’ve heard lots of great things about the entire line. I did a huge clean out, shipping boxes and boxed of products to family members (couldn’t bring myself to toss it) just to get my stash cleaned out but I still have a lot…and of course there are always ones I want to try. Have you tried Cantu leave-in? It looks to be a similar consistency and I remember loving it!

I had to give my cousin a box of products s couple months to free up my stash, it was getting out of hand lol. I haven’t tried Cantu yet. It’s oddly enough one of the lines I’m shocked I still haven’t tried.

  6. I have not yet used Shea Moisture product, I am still experimenting on my cantu range. I will definitely try them this year.

  7. I love this product and I also love the deep treatment masque. I applied that to my hair and went under the steamer for a bit and came out pleasantly surprised!

  8. I wish it was on sale where I live, I definitely wanna try.

  9. Jen,
Have ever tried As I Am’s leave-in conditioner. It’s about the sample price as Shea Moisture, but less quality. I tried it after using the SM (which didn’t work for me) and enjoy it enough to finish the bottle, but would like to try the Kurlee Belle in the future.

Hi there, no I haven’t tried that leave-in yet. I wonder how the ingredients compare to SM?

    2. I used kurlee bee. I really really wanted it to work. I couldn’t even use it up. It left my hair dryer. I couldn’t understand it!

  10. Jen how does this compare to the kurlee belle in terms of slip/ease of detangling and moisture?

Kurlee Belle Thirsty Kurls Leave-In wins — KB’s leave in provides more slip and is more moisturizing (my hair stays moisturized longer).
