My Review

This has been one my favorite conditioners to pre-poo with over the last couple of months. If you tuned in while I transitioned to natural, you may remember seeing it pop up during my wash day recaps. I loved this as a pre-poo while I transitioned because it made detangling my multiple textures a breeze.

A few of its key ingredients that my hair likes:

  • Cetyl alcohol — a fatty alcohol. Fatty alcohols are emollients, they moisturize and condition our hair, and provide slip.
  • Glycerin, honey — humectants. Humectants draw moisture into the air.
  • Behentrimonium Chloride — plant-based conditioning agent that that softens and helps detangle hair.
  • Panthenol — humectant and moisturizing agent.

I recently used this to help revert my flat ironed hair and it worked like a dream. It sunk into my hair and started replenishing my hair with moisture on application. This conditioner also rinses out well and does not cling to my scalp. Lastly, I have left this in overnight, which I’m always wary to do because sometimes I have a finicky scalp, but thankfully this conditioner doesn’t irritate my scalp one bit.

I don’t really have any “cons” for this conditioner (aside from the fact that I wish it was available in a bigger bottle). I’ve gone through about 4 bottles of this stuff since I first started using it months ago.

Have you used this conditioner? Liked it? Loved it? Left it?

  1. This is the only thing from Shea Moisture that I haven't tried. I need to get on the ball. I'm 60 weeks post with my hair creeping up on my tailbone. I need to stop playing with my hair. LOL

  2. Bought this when it was on sale at Target a few months ago.
I've got a stash of Shea moisture products with the Raw Shea Butter line being a main staple for me.
(Bogo free is when I stock up)

I'll definitely crack open that bottle now after your review. 🙂

  3. I love the Coconut and Hibiscus line. I blaze through those bottles and wish they were bigger. I didn't have much luck with the Manuka line. I will give it a go once more since I have a good bit of ng now.

  4. I've never used this line from Shea Moisture but I'm always down for any conditioner that helps with detangling. I'll have to keep this in mind when I get further in my relaxer stretch

  5. I love this conditioner! Unfortunately, there's no Target where I live as of yet, so I have to stock up on it when I go home to visit my mom. Or order it online, but I hate paying for shipping ><

  6. Love love love this conditioner and the honey masque also from this line as well as the serum. It's one of my staples and I agree wish it came in a bigger bottle.

    Love your hair.
