Wash Day

Steaming in my pre-poo

[1] *I washed my hair on Wednesday* Pre-pooed with Hair Trigger on my scalp and Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner on the length of my hair. I decided to steam in my pre-poos this time… first time every doing this. I love my steamer but I hate sitting under it. IDK why, I just do but pre-pooing with it for 15 minutes wasn’t bad so maybe it’ll be a weekly thing… especially since my hair was so darn soft when I went to rinse out the Kenra MC and I experienced less shedding while shampooing. My reason for using Hair Trigger as a pre-poo is because it contains garlic, onion, and black tea, 3 ingredients that help with shedding. My theory is that steaming with Hair Trigger made it pack a bigger punch on my scalp, hence the decrease in shed hairs when rinsing out the Kenra MC and shampooing my hair.

[2] Shampooed with Silk Dreams Go Moist Shampoo (I rinse out the shampoo before applying the tea).
[3] Tea rinsed using green tea and peppermint tea mix.
[4] Applied Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Treatment for 5 minutes then rinsed.
[5] Deep conditioned with my conditioning cap using Silk Dreams’ Vanilla Silk Cream Moisture Dream (you can check out my review here).
[6] Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt for about 30 minutes then applied my leave ins: Silk Dreams Wheat Germ Butter Conditioner and serum, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. Then I detangled my hair, letting it dry in the process.

My hair 2 days without moisturizing & sealing. ^^^ Why
I’ll never skip my deep conditioning sessions!

[7] Once I finished detangling my hair, I tied my edges down with a silk scarf and let it air dry. The plan WAS to roller set my hair since it’s one of my April Goals but when I remembered that the following day was a big cardio day for me at the gym and that my roots would be a little afro after my run, I ditched that plan. I mean, there was no point in spending 2 hours on a roller set that would be wrecked the next day haha.

Out of laziness, I skipped moisturizing and sealing but thankfully between by pre-pooing and deep conditioning with two moisturizing conditioners my hair favors, my hair was adequately moisturized. Friday night, I dampened my hair with Komaza Moisturizing Spray (you can check out my review here) and braided my hair (11 plaits in total). I pincurled each braided and used double prong clips (the ones I use when roller setting) to secure the braids.

In the morning, I applied a little Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage serum to my hands, took down, and separated my braids til kingdom come… I really don’t like piece-y looking braid-outs. Full hair with texture is my idea of a good braid-out time. I didn’t have a lot of texture but I still liked the end results. I will not re-braid my hair during the week, I’ll just cross-wrap it after moisturizing and sealing.

And sorry about the pic quality! I snapped and collaged these on my cell phone because I’ve no idea where my digital camera is… that’s what happens when you go on a massive Spring cleaning spree through your entire apartment and forget where you put things 🙂

Thanks! No I haven't used it in months. I stopped using it because I didn't want to deal with dry new growth and I just never picked up the habit again.

    2. Thanks for the response. I'm tempted to try it to combat shedding, not sure if i will experience dry growth, I have been transitioning for 14 months now.

  3. Gorgeous results! I may just have to invest in a steamer 😉
