March Goals Review + April Goals

Times flies, April’s here so it’s time to review last month’s goals.
[Goal #1] I stuck to my first goal and trimmed off an inch after my last relaxer in March. You can check out that post here.  [Goal #2] I did a tea rinse every wash day in March. *throws confetti*

[Goal #3] I had the most success with goal numbers three and four. I used up a bottle of Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Treatment, a jar of CC’s Naturals Marshmallow & Burdock Root tea, and HairitageHydration Coconut Yuzu Love. I gave away the following (yup I’m counting them towards this goal haha): HairVeda Whipped Creme Ends Hydration, ORS Edge Control, Redken Smooth Lock Butter Silk, Giovanni Direct Leave-In, Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner, and Darcy’s Botanicals Sweet Cocoa Bean Curl Smoothing Cream. [Goal #4] I drank between 52 oz and 64 oz of water a day depending on what bottles I used. Pictured below left to right: 32 oz Camelbak, 20 oz Camelbak, and 18.5 Bobble bottle.
[Goal #5] You already know I failed this one. I bought two Roots Only bottles (don’t miss your chance to enter the giveaway!) and replaced the bottle of Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Treatment that I finished earlier last month. [Goal #6] Major fail on this goal. I think I used my steamer maybe once all March… I can’t even remember. It’s so much easier to use my Hot N’ Gold conditioning cap.

Here are my goals for April:

How did you do in March? What are your goals for the month of April?

  1. I'm a little confused about step 1 (a,b,c,d). Do you do this step weeks before your relaxer or the day of?

Hi there, I'm not sure what you're referring to???

    1. Author

I used to roller set with every wash day (so about 4 times a month) but now because of the length and the longer drying times, I do it once a month, if that at all. The last time I roller set my hair was Feb 1.

  2. My goals for March were to perfect my twist out and not buy any hair products. I got my twist out down but I TOTALLY failed on the 'no-buy'.

My goal for April is to try other no-heat styles (twist and curl, braid out, plait outs, bantu knot outs, etc.) and not buy another hair product!

  3. How do you like your bobble bottle?

I prefer my Camelbak bottles, I actually wish I had returned my Bobble bottle when I could. The idea of having a filter in the nozzle is nice but the plastic bottle is starts to flatten from being squeezed, water doesn't flow through the nozzle fast enough for me, and what's most annoying is the bottle makes a lot of noise when drinking about of the air being sucked through the filter.

  4. What a great idea! I'm going to do this also!

  5. This is amazing, I didn't set myself any goals but will do for April! Off to my blog to document, and be held accountable at month end!!

  6. No goals but i love the way you set out your posts1 So beautiful!

  7. My goal for March was to simplify my regimen and stick with the same products for my washes. I have, and I'm getting a better handle on what my hair positively responds to. The tea rinses are working wonders, although mine are more effective when applying (and leaving in) just before my deep conditioner. Shedding went down substantially!

I've since gotten Senegalese twists put in, so upkeep is slightly simpler. I plan to do daily M&S, drink at least 75oz of water a day, and continue taking my vitamins daily. Reading your blog has definitely helped me to focus with making definitive goals. Thanks!

  8. I was mostly lurking during March but I did notice your return to the tea rinses. You shouldn't count a replacement buy as a failure though, and you gave away some awesome products. I really need to get back to creating and sticking to monthly goals…thanks for the motivation!
