Hair Babble

Oh boy, I’ve been MIA! JGA TURNED 4 YEARS OLD LAST WEEK (MARCH 7TH) AND I COMPLETELY FORGOT! This blog has come much, much farther than I ever thought it ever would. I am beyond appreciative for all the support and readership!!!

After self-relaxing my hair last week, I haven’t done much to it except moisturize with either Darcy’s Botanicals Sweet Cocoa Bean Moisturizing Hair Whip or Silk Dreams Mocha Silk Hair Milk (review coming soon) and sealing with small amounts of Hairitage Hydration Coconut Mango Hair Moisturizer.

One of my March Goals is to use up at least 1 product. I was organizing my product stash last week and gave away a few products. Even tough I didn’t use them up, I’m still counting towards my March Goal, haha. Whoop, whoop! I parted with HairVeda Whipped Creme Ends Hydration, ORS Edge Control, Redken Smooth Lock Butter Silk, Giovanni Direct Leave-In, Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner, and Darcy’s Botanicals Sweet Cocoa Bean Curl Smoothing Cream.

I finished up my jar of CC’s Naturals Marshmallow & Burdock Tea so I’ll be using just green tea and peppermint tea for my weekly tea rinses. You can check out the benefits of each tea here.

Wouldn’t this Roots Only applicator bottle be nice for hot oil treatments? It’s a bit unnecessary because a regular applicator bottle from Sally Beauty would work just as well, but comb like tips still make it look very interesting.

  3. Congratulations!
I self relaxed yesterday for the first time after watching your youtube video. I did vertical parts instead of horizontal but next time I will try your way. I wish I could post a picture 🙂
Wearing it today in a huge loose bun covered in one of those super fine hairnets that wigs and fake ponytails come in, it keeps the bun very tidy, especially in this snowy windy day in Canada!

Thanks! I'm happy to hear your touch up went well!

  4. Happy Blogaversary. The Roots Only applicator bottle is AMAZING. It doesn't let a ton of oil come out on each squeeze and it goes directly where you want it. But see if you can find the official website and locate it locally. I think I paid 4 or 5 bucks for the ones I bought at Walmart. I did call ahead to make sure they had them but I grabbed two of the last five they had and ran for the hills. Well looks like the site is buggy right now and they apparently aren't at Wally World anymore but they are at Sally's and less than half the price of the ones on Amazon http://www.sallybeauty.com/haircolor-bottle/SBS-568100,default,pd.html?cgid=Supp&cm_vc=SEARCH

I didn't know it was available at Sally's! Thank you! I didn't want to purchase it for nearly $13 on Amazon, but wouldn't mind picking it up at Sally's for 5 and some change

  5. Happy Bloggerversary!!! I see that you got rid of the ORS edge control, did you ever find something to replace it with?
Btw, I love your blog it saved my hair. Thanks and god bless.

    1. This past weekend my step-mother introduced me to the most magical stuff on earth. It's called Hicks hair edge control, it transformed my gawd-awful edges.

Thank you! I was supposed to wash it today but didn't have the time. I'll get to it in a few days.

  7. Happy Bloggerversary!!! The Roots only bottle is great for oiling my scalp. It makes it so much easier. Love your blog!!!

  8. I used the roots only bottle to oil my scalp and it worked pretty well until my husband broke it. He won't admit it but I know it was him. He likes to use my stuff. Oh I also meant to tell you that I found Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat at a Rite Aid here in Raleigh. I didn't buy it but when I get paid I'm definitely going back to get it. I could have sworn they discontinued it but I guess this Rite Aid had some in their inventory.
