• I’ve been eyeing hair forks, like this one or this one, and think they might be a great alternative to the Goody Ouchless hair bands I’ve been using. I like its simple design and smooth finish.

• I finally purchased liquid silk amino acids to coat my hair with before my touch ups. I was previously using CHI Silk Infusion, but now I’m glad I have the “real stuff” without any additives.

• My mother thinks it’s odd I store all my vitamins right next to the beverages in my fridge but it just makes it easier to grab something to drink and consistently take my vits. Don’t knock it ’til you try it ma! 🙂
• I am nearly done my second bottle of GNC Ultra Nourish-Hair. I have acne-prone skin but haven’t experienced an increase in breakouts since I began these supplements. They’re also gentle on the stomach.
• If I’m completely honest with myself, I have approximately 2 inches of bone straight ends that need.to.go. When I made up my mind to grow to waist length, I vowed not to begin seriously trimming away my bone straight ends until I hit waist length. After my next length check in December, a cut is in order (see how I’m challenging positive thoughts that I’ll make waist length aka the bottom of the sash haha?). Hip length is 4 inches from waist for me… how am I going to make hip length in 2013 when I’m cutting?… by retaining. every. darn. inch. And sending up prayers for a growth spurt 🙂
• I’ve been moisturizing with Darcy’s Botanicals Coconut Lemongrass Transitioning Creme + sealing with Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum… moisture and protein all in one go.
• I can’t wait for my Black Friday hair goodies to arrive! Here’s what I bought: Darcy’s Botanicals new Sweet Cocoa Bean Moisturizing Hair Whip, and from Silk Dreams I got: Wheat Germ Butter Conditioner and Mocha Silk Hair Milk. I might grab a jar of Lavender Flaxseed Gel from CC’s Naturals on Cyber Monday.

Let’s babble! What’s on your mind?
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  1. I tried the GNC hair vitamins…unfourtunately my skin did not agree :/ however I'm currently involved in an intense love affair the JBCO and am enjoying the results so far! I'm holding off on my hair goodies until the dad blesses me with my sally's gift card! lol!

  2. I have a hair fork in right this second. I love them. I used a ouchless band over the weekend and it got tangled in my hair. It was a reminder why I've been using my forks and hair sticks only for the last few months.

  3. Hi Jen I did my corrective relaxer and I had to cut of 1 1/2 due to using flat irons every week. Learnt a bib lesson

  5. I think your hair looks lovely. The straighter ends prevents it from having an A-shape. It has a natural shape now that is so great!

? Jenni m only on my 2nd stretch. My ? Is when I did my 1st I didn't do a strand test so my front (from the ear to the hairline) is bone straight (yes I started w the front instead of the thickset part which is the back but I fig since I was TL that it wldnt mk that big if a dif. Anyhoo my back came out perfectly tl'd yaaaaay! About 3c. However the 2. Drastically dif textures are driving me Virgo in my batty LOL! So my resolution is to just go bs all over then gradually go n2 TL. WWJD Lololol! Anyways I'm thinking since you can always go straight but once straight you can't go curly then…pls & Ty

  7. So funny you guys are mentioning grapeseed oil, bcz a you tuber (sistas with real hair) is endorsing a gso by the name 'napa valley'. I can't wait to try it. She did a color comparison w a good grocery store popular brand and the napa was about 2shades a darker green and it just looked richer. Same price as most oils 6-9$. I recently discovered I'm low porosity so coconut oil does not agree w my hair so gso I will be trying

  8. Love your blog! I started my hair journey in 2010 by accident (no stylists that could do relaxers where I was working.) I've been using some of the products you've been using and I love it. Quick question, what liquid silk amino acids are you using? I've been trying to find the right mixture to coat my hair before touch ups. I found that that really helps as I do the tex-lax thing now as you do.

  9. I love your hair babble posts. I had no idea you planned to grow on to hip length, I thought WSL was your final goal. God bless you! LOL! I think I may try the vitamins near the beverages thing. I recently tried some hair, nail and skin vitamins which were an EPIC GIGANTIC FAIL because they immediately broke out my already acne prone skin! *face palm* I'm still trying to remedy the effects, back to regular MV I go!

Between waist and hip (w/hip) will be my final length so I'm planning on growing to hip to cut it and have great ends. Thank you for the blessing, I'm gonna need it lol! So sorry the vits made you break out, it's so frustrating when things trigger break outs! As if we needed help >:O

    2. Things they dnt tell us about hair vitamins- that's a topic u can blog on PLEASE lol
I noticed today 3strands of hair on my chin. I freaked out. Hair is growing everywhere on me now. Everywhere I tell ya.
      Did that happen to you.

  10. My hair has a chocolate spa day yesterday. I used the Chocolat shampoo and conditioner. I deep conditioned with Silk Dreams Chocolate Bliss Conditioner. My hair smells really pretty. lol

I finally gave away the products that have been sitting on my hair shelf away. It feels good to see that shelf almost empty. All I have left are some oils and a bottle of Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave-In that I only used once or twice.

I found out that one of my cousins is on a hair journey. I felt good to talk to somebody about healthy hair care and not have that skeptical look thrown at you. lol

"Chocolate Spa Day" –> that sounds good lol. It's great you've found someone to talk hair-talk with!

  11. I want to add Amino Acid Complex to my Supplements, since i do my research about the importance of them for the cell metabolism of our body and for hair growth.
Also i think i will buy the Hercules Sägemann Magic Star Comb. Since it is a wide tooth comb , i guess it would be great for my detangling sessions

  12. Am loving what grapeseed oil does to my hair – been using almost a week now. Thanks Jen…… u r an inspiration.

Yay for grapeseed oil! ♥ love it so much! Aww thank YOU!

  13. I bought Bee mines avocado balanced conditioner, curly butter and luscious moisturizer…..I plan on going to the bbs to buy my daughters Curls Curly Q conditioner and the whipped souffle

  14. I bought a wig to use for my next stretch.
I'm currently doing a Greenhouse challenge so I stopped using my GNC ultranourish hair to know whether the Greenhouse really works or not. I was using coconut oil in the beginning but it was making my hair hard so I've started using grapeseed oi and I love it.
    I'm loving air drying again.
So, that's it. Take care Jeni.
