Chasing Waist Length (Length Check)

The picture on the left is from my touch up in August. The picture on the right is from my touch up in October.

I used a belt to show where the smallest part of my waist is this time and I’m grazing WL baaabbbyyy (in MY mind I am, lol!). I will be trying my hardest to get as close as possible to the bottom of that sash by midnight December 31, 2012.

My game plan:

  • Take my supplements every. darn. day. I’m currently taking GNC Ulta NourishHair and Women’s One-A-Day.
  • Continue moisturizing and sealing nightly.
  • Protective style like it’s my job.
  • Scalp massages every other night. I’m currently using Hair Trigger for my scalp massages. I haven’t been using this long enough to attest to an increase in growth rate (but I’ll be track that this stretch) but it’s been working really well for shedding. I’m game for anything that keeps hair on my head.
  • Continue following my regimen.
  • Drink plenty of water.
What’s your goal (length or otherwise) for 12/31/12?
What are you doing to reach it?

  1. My hair so healthy right now! It will take me about a year to get to the length you are in this shot. Stay motivational!

  2. Your hair is SERIOUSLY drool worthy! And I'm sure you'll get to full WL in next to no time. Right now I'm chasing full SL(started with raggedy looking ear/neck length), I think my V is officially SL but I'm not claiming it till the sides catch up. I'm protective styling A LOT, moisturize and seal daily (I need to be more rigorous with that, there are evenings I forget) and I'm trying to stream line my regimen and staple products. I'm really praying hard for full SL by 31/12/2012!!

  3. Congratulations on your progress, your hair is AMAZING! I came across your blog a couple of days back all the way from Lagos, Nigeria (thank GOD for the internet, lol). I am officially ADDICTED, it's such an inspiration.

I've been on a 10 month stretch since January because my hair was such a mess. I'll be relaxing in a couple of weeks, after which I'll hopefully settle into a regimen that works….please wish me luck.

Thank you so much Genny! Good luck with your upcoming touch up and finding a regimen that's perfect for you!

  4. I just reached APL thanks to the tip of my V-shape, but I would love to be full APL or BSB. I take plenty supplements, drink a gallon of water daily. I use Liquid Gold on my scalp and I wear buns 90% of the time.

As always, your hair is just beautiful. Can't wait to see your next length check!!

Congrats on reaching APL! And thank you! My aunt has been using Liquid Gold for a few weeks now. I need to check up on her and see how it's going.

  5. My hair is natural, but seriously you are a great inspiration. You will definitely reach waist length by the end of the year.
You hair is so thick and beautiful, OMG! I’m motivating myself, I need to take my fish oil and be diligent with everything.
    Thank you for sharing 🙂

  7. You are such an inspiration! Many bloggers stop blogging as much once they real their goals. Please continue! It is so amazing to see a black woman take the health of her hair into her own hands and dispel the myths and stereotypes. I love your blog!
