A few weeks ago I sent Darcy’s Botanicals an email on what ratio of moisturizer to water they would recommend if I wanted to dilute my beloved Coconut Lemongrass Transitioning Creme (CLTC) to make it easier to spray from a bottle. A rep responded and advised that I use 2 parts moisturizer, 1 part water.
Well, I completely forgot about the tip until last night. I was giving myself a scalp massage and realized how freaking dry my new growth felt. I’ve been moisturizing the length of my hair every night, but because my new growth requires more time I’ve just been skipping it… hence the Sahara Desert I had sprouting from my scalp. Thankfully on my way to grab my bottle of CLTC, the tip came to mind.
Luckily I had an empty spray bottle on hand. I love Target for their travel sized section – which is where I scored this bottle for a buck. I filled 2/3 of the bottle with CLTC and 1/3 with filtered water from my shower and got down to making my new growth happy.
I only wish I had remembered this tip sooner. It was such an easy task with my spray bottle. After spraying my new growth and massaging the moisturizer in, I sprayed the length of my hair, then sealed with grapeseed oil (just the length of my hair, not the new growth) before throwing my hair back up in a loose bun. My new growth is soft and moisturized again… and I have no reason to be lazy and ignore my new growth again 🙂
