My Assessment:
I received this dryer as a Valentine’s Day gift from my boyfriend this year and ditched my old dryer the same day, a Gold N’ Hot 1400 watt table top dryer.  Pros: With my previous dryer, it would take 2+ hours to really dry my hair, with this dryer I’m done in about an hour to an hour and a half, the only exception being times I’ve made my sections too large resulting in a longer drying time because there’s more hair on each roller. It was very easy to assemble this dryer on my own and it only took about 15-20 minutes to unpack everything, read through the instructions and put everything together. It’s also very easy to store and take apart. You can detach the dome from the stand by simply pulling it up. Aside from drying time, my biggest complaints about my table top dryer were, one, I was limited to the kitchen table because that was the only table of the right height for me to sit under the under, and two, there two temperature settings: barely hot and ow-my-scalp-hurts-hot). With this dryer, I’m able to adjust the dryer to a comfortable height and the highest temperature is still comfortable on my scalp. Cons: My largest rollers are 2 inches in diameter (gray rollers) and unfortunately they do not fit comfortably under the dryer. I end up having to tilt my head forward to make sure my hair at my nape dries and tilt my head up so that the front sides can dryer. Because of the position of the dryer, the heat falls straight onto my shoulders. I’ve found I can’t dry my hair without a shirt or towel on my shoulders because I just get so hot. The only other con I have on this dryer is that it’s loud. When I’m under it, I can’t hear anything except the sound of the dryer. It’s very loud and it’s a bit annoying. Other than that, no other complaints.

  1. Hi Jen,

How has your dryer been working? Have you had any issues with overheating? I bought the Gold'n'hot rollabout from Sally's and after two uses need to return it.

  2. Hello, you're my "hair inspiration". I began because of you
How many time in a month do you use your BaByliss Pro Thermal Ionic Rollabout Dryer?
    Thanks
    (sorry for my english)

  3. Jen, I almost purchased this dryer, but I was too cheap. I picked up the Gold-n-hot.  I kind of wish I had gotten the Babyliss. I love your site.  I've only been doing my own hair for four months. I suck, but your blog gives me hope that one day I'll master this thing:-)

  4. I've been looking at this dryer for a while… but your cons are the same as mine for my conair tabletop… le sigh I will keep looking…
