Reply Varishta Shireen October 6, 2011 at 11:54 pm Hello =) This video was really helpfull. I self relaxed my hair for the first time today (usually my mom does it). The pre-parting and applying the relaxer with your hands rather than a brush really helped! I'm very pleased with my results. Reply jenijen October 1, 2011 at 5:01 am Aww, it was my pleasure. I'm bummed the audio didn't work but oh well. How did your hair turn out? Reply jenijen October 1, 2011 at 5:00 am Hi Natasha! I responded to your questions in a new post, hope they help! Reply Maia September 30, 2011 at 12:55 am Jeni.. you are an absolute doll for posting this. I'm relaxing my hair with help from a friend tomorrow so this is just in time. Thanks a million… Fingers and toes crossed… I'm nervous but we will watch your video again before we do it. Thanks again. Reply Nlwilliams243 September 29, 2011 at 10:15 pm HI! I'm new to the site and have been lurking for a while. Finally decided to post a comment. What is the Porosity Control? Can that be used as a deep conditioner as well? Also, what do you use for shedding? I remember you using Garlic oil. Do you still recomment that? I'm learning a lot from your blog. Thanks for the info. -Natasha Reply jenijen September 29, 2011 at 5:00 am Awwwwwww thank you!! You're exactly right, I apply PM, leave it one for a few minutes, rinse, then deep condition. Reply Danawpace September 29, 2011 at 4:10 am Beautiful…Beautiful…! I have what may sound like a silly question but in step 6 you rinse between each of those steps right? So you put the PM treatment on and rinse it out then condition? Thanks for your help. You are my inspiration…!!! Reply Priscilla Owusu- Ansah September 29, 2011 at 2:49 am Im definitely going to pre-section like you did for my next relaxer, I'm still not sure about the half and half method tho. Great veideo Jen! Reply Yoshika Christian September 29, 2011 at 12:37 am Ahhhh! Great video!!! I never thought about twisting the ends and pre-parting!! I will definitely try that for my next relaxer!! Reply jenijen September 28, 2011 at 9:31 pm Thank you! I know exactly how you feel, I used to think that in applying my own relaxer I was going to cause my hair to fall out! There are posts floating around on the blog about my nervousness lol, but I practiced with conditioner until I felt comfortable and then went for it. So I'd suggest starting out with conditioner too, that way, you'll be able to get a feel of the process and good a good DC session out of it 🙂 Reply Psychoc008 September 28, 2011 at 6:21 pm Hey Jeni, I enjoyed your video. I really , really love your application of the relaxer . I have always thought about relaxing my own hair , but I am too scared to . Seeing this video has just inspired me to really give it a try . I love how you twist and pin the hair after basing the scalp , so you don't have to part the hair while applying the relaxer . Very smart idea to me . Utmost importance , congrats making BSL . I can't wait to see when you are MBL . Reply Leave a Comment Cancel Reply Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
