Boost The Effectiveness Of Deep Conditioning With Heat

Using heat while deep conditioning is an easy way to help infuse your hair with more moisture. The use of heat helps the conditioning agents penetrate the hair shaft. I use my Gold N’ Hot heating cap when I deep condition and sit under it for 30 mins to an hours.

Other ways to incorporate heat when deep conditioning:

  1. Soak a towel in hot water (not scalding hot) and wrap the towel around your head.
  2. Sit under hooded dryer for 20-30 minutes
  3. With use of a hair steamer or steam room/sauna if one is available to you.

  1. I don't think it's inefficient because with or without heat, our hair will reaps some benefit from deep conditioning. Times when I use just body heat, I'll actually grab a winter hat and put that over my shower cap further warm up my head.

  2. When I'm pressed for time (which is often) I just use a Walmart bag. It definitely works!!!

  3. Do you think it's okay to just DC with a shower cap only? Sometimes I do this but now I'm wondering if it's ineffective to DC with body heat only?
