A Peek At My Aunt’s Natural Hair

I love my aunts hair. Her strands are fine but her hair is very thick overall. She’s been experiencing itchy scalp and I had a bottle of Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo that I barely used so I suggested to try it since tea tree oil is great for itchy scalp. After she shampooed, she conditioned for 15 minutes with Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint Moisturizing Conditioner.

After she rinsed out the conditioner, I applied Giovanni’s Direct Leave In and divided her hair into sections and applied Kinky Curly Knot Today and detangled. Knot Today made it so easy to detangle her hair. Her hair is thick and tightly coiled but her hair was soft and I was able to work through it all.

Her individual strands are fine just like mine but overall she has A LOT of hair to work with… I’m jealous lol
Stretching her hair to show shrinkage.

I love playing with her hair, even if it feels like a work out just to detangle it all! 🙂 Unfortunately, my aunt does not really have a regimen or staple products, nor does she moisturize regularly. Her retention has remained stunted as a result but I’m working on getting her to develop a regimen. All that thick hair with length would be so drool-worthy!

  1. Kind words, thank you! Natural hair is definitely in my future, just not sure when I'll take the plunge.

  2. You are so sweet, sincere, and beautiful. However, I must say that i was surprised when i realised that your hair was relaxed since it looks in optimum health. I am 28 months natural and a real product fiend and like yourself my hair is growing like wild fire and looking fierce & strong – I won't harp on about natural hair as it's very much a personal choice and I don't know you but i do sense that one day you just might catch the 'natural' bug and become an awesome ambassador for natural hair women. x
