Product Review: Paul Mitchell Shampoo Two (Clarifying Shampoo)

Price: ~$12.00

Purchased At: Ulta

Promises: • Basics: Deeply cleanses oily hair and scalps • Benefits: Leaves hair fresh, shiny and full of body. • Bonus: Minimizes oil production so hair becomes less oily over time. • Details: Wheat-derived conditioners boost body and shine, fresh lemon fragrance.

Ingredients: Chamomile Extract (De-ionized Water/Chamomile Blend), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Derived From Coconut), Sodium Chloride, Cocamide DEA, Awapuhi Extract, Rosemary Extract, Jojoba Oil, Kelp Extract, Henna Extract, Aloe Vera Gel, Wheat Germ Oil, Panthenol, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Methylparaben, Citric Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fragrance, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone

My Assessment: This is the only clarifying shampoo I have used that does not leave my hair feeling stripped, tangled, or dry. My hair simply feels squeaky clean. I’m not a fan of citrusy/lemony fragrances, but I like this one. I tend to use shampoos I don’t like to wash my scarves, but this one will never meet that fate =)

  1. Thanks for answering I;ll be sure to get the right shampoo. By the way your hair is gorgeous I just came across your blog and I love it keep up the good work!!!

  2. can you use a sulfates shampoo to remove build up or do they have to say clarifying shampoo

A regular sulfate shampoo wouldn't contain all the same cleansing agents that a clarifying shampoo would have. A clarifying shampoo provides a deep clean so for clarifying, it's best to look for a shampoo that states that it clarifies the hair.

I love their products, good luck on your hair journey too!

    1. Have you done the review on the Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo?

    2. Author

No, I've mentioned in a few posts when I use it but I've never done an actual product review post on it.

  4. My hair is as long as yours right now, but I know it's damaged (alot of breakage) and nobody would point that out when I asked how to stop it.

I recently went to the Paul Mitchell Salon for a cut and wash and the student definitely noticed the damage and used 3 different conditioners to help it. My hair felt amazing afterwards. Their products are awesome.

Love the blog and good luck on your hair journey. I just started mine. It's good to know someone else is in the same position 🙂
