… one week later, ha! Yeah I know, it’s only been one week and it’s too early to say I’m loving being texlaxed but today’s wash was great so I’m just going to with it for now haha. My wet unwashed hair felt so soft. My hair wet has never felt that soft. I loved it. I washed with Paul Mitchell Super Strong Shampoo, followed by Paul Mitchell Super Strong Treatment for 5 minutes. I decided to do a protein treatment today because I didn’t do one the week for I relaxing nor during the relaxer process. I deep conditioned with Aubrey Organic’s Honeysuckle Rose for 30 minutes with heat.

I roller set my hair like usual but this week I did something a little different. I let my hair air dry a bit before I detangled and roller set. I decided to make this little change after reading a post on Relaxed Hair Health. She shared her experience that letting her hair air dry a bit before detangling and roller setting saved a ton of hair. Hair is most fragile when it’s wet. Air drying a little before detangling decreases breakage that you might experience from detangling or pulling out any hair this isn’t ready to be shed. I tried this today and it was such a great idea! I applied my leave-ins and let my hair air dry for about 15 minutes and then detangled. It was so much easier to do and the amount of hair I lost was less than half of the usual amount. I only regret not doing this earlier; I keep thinking about all the hair I could have retained. After I detangled, I parted my hair (with ease) and roller set as usual. I got the hair to lay nice and flat on the roller simply by spraying each section with water before I rolled the hair onto the roller. My roller set came out bouncy and soft. I will forever air dry prior to detangling and roller setting my hair. If you consistently roller set your hair, try it!!!!!!!!!!
